Description
UNESCO-UNICEF Gateways Dialogue will showcase Bangladesh’s public digital learning platforms, with a special focus on a platform that supports and empowers teachers.
With a population of over 170 million, Bangladesh is the eighth most populous country in the world. Its education system serves more than 40 million students and employs nearly 1 million teachers. Bangladesh has long been working to establish freely accessible digital learning platforms to help expand access to quality education.
During the webinar, representatives from the Ministry of Education and the government’s Aspire to Innovate (a2i) program will share how the country is improving education delivery through strategic investments in national platforms and supporting digital policies.
Aspire to Innovate (a2i) is a flagship programme under the government’s ICT Division that works towards fostering innovation and sustainable development in Bangladesh through its initiatives.
The webinar will feature the Bangladesh Teacher’s Portal, a national platform that has helped teachers access, create and share educational content. Offering open, quality-controlled resources, peer learning opportunities and professional development tools, the portal empowers teachers and has sparked changes to teaching and learning across the country.
