Capacity Building Webinar №2 for Museum Workers: Inclusiveness in the Work of Museums
In order to provide museums in the region with an opportunity to improve the skills of their staff in certain areas of professional activity, the UNESCO Cluster Office in Almaty is organising a series of online webinars to build the capacity of museum workers in Central Asia. The webinars are open to staff of all museums in Central Asia and Southern Caucasus, as well as interested representatives of authorised state bodies, research organisations, NGOs and civil society. Webinars will take place in the online format in the Russian language. They will include keynote presentations by experts / museum professionals with unique expertise, followed by question-and-answer.

Speaker: Ms Natalia Bazhenova – senior research fellow of the State Art Museum named after A. Kasteev (Almaty, Kazakhstan), member of the Union of Artists of Kazakhstan.

Description: In order to give their visitors a unique live experience of appreciating museum objects, the advanced museums of our days are constantly enlarging their fields of work and becoming an inclusive platform to all categories of visitors, such as people with special needs. Ms Bazhenova has a long experience in implementing various projects aiming to increase the accessibility of museum organisations for people with special needs.
