This session will close the 4-days celebration of IHP and Water Sciences anniversary, that included high-level events, panels, side events, exhibitions and artistic performances. This milestone event was an occasion to listen to participants from all regions of the world with valuable points of view for shaping the future of global water agenda. In this session discussions of the previous days will be synthesized and members of the UNESCO Water Family and IHP partners will deliver final messages on how to build a water resilient future beyond 2030 and will provide insights on a strategic vision for the next 50 years of IHP. Listening to all these voices will ensure IHP adapts to emerging global water challenges and continues to drive impactful solutions will guide the contribution to the UN Water Conference 2026. The objective of the Closing session is to put a fine point on the most important, divisive or controversial, and dynamic topics of the anniversary event. This event will also provide an additional opportunity for members of the Water Family and beyond to elevate points of particular importance. The session will: Conclude the IHP 50th anniversary event with a clear agenda for future efforts. Provide a cohesive message on the past and future of IHP. End with a positive outlook for the future of water sciences at UNESCO and more broadly.
